Mudd Walks and Jam Talks...

Jam has been narrating everything. We went to the park and Jam let me know that we talk way too much about the whole potty thing. Two olders kids yelled that they were going to the bathroom and when they came back to the swings Jam started clapping, "yay, you made a poop in the potty." I was mortified. Thankfully, the kids were good sports. I'm kinda letting the potty thing figure itself out. Which means that I haven't really been pushing it, and The Wiggles undies are getting nice and cozy in the bottom drawer where they NEVER see the light of day. (Any advice would be greatly appreciated, PS)
Mudd decided to make his presence known by standing up today. We were all sitting in the playroom and I turned around and the big little guy was looking down at me like "what? I've been doing this for years." It was wild...and scary too. My boys are growing up...(sniff).

Congrats on the standing and good luck on the potty training. We're not to potty training yet so I don't have any advice unfortunately. I'll probably be asking YOU for advice in about 6 months!

OK - hilarious telling the big boys "good job." And mortifying, but hey - it's nice to know that something you say to your boy is sinking in, even if it comes back out at the wrong time, huh?

I had a hard time with the lack of real advice for potty training, and every child really is different, but if you're interested I posted about this on my blog: "Will pee for marshmallows." I will say that boys are a little trickier, my pediatrician said they usually don't train until between three and four years old (girls about a year earlier), but it is AWESOME when it "clicks." He'll lead the way - just be patient. The best thing I ever heard was someone say, "Just keep your perspective - you KNOW he won't still be in diapers in kindergarten." It didn't seem like that some days, but it's true.

Like how I act the professional potty trainer when I've only done it once? Well, I can say I came out with a lot more confidence than going into it...It's been my least favorite part of parenting thus far, but it will happen for you. Keep it up! Good luck!

Make mine a Frozen Margarita, lot's of salt please. :)
My two year old is the silent type, but at two you get a pass for ALL things said because you're so darn cute!

I'm afraid all mine were late bloomers on the potty train, we've tried it all. Ace is currently into being naked all the time. But Potty? No thank you!
Thanks for the comment! I'll be checking for your potty progress:)

Very funny post! I can remember when my now 11 year old was 2 and every other word out of her mouth was "poop"! It drove me nuts. The cuteness wore off when she insisted on saying it at the dinner table!

O.K., Here's my advice about potty training. DON'T PUSH IT! If you do the little critter will dig in his/her heels and add six months to the whole process! Girls are easier then boys, generally speaking. My son was 4 before he was dry during the day and SIX before he could go dry at night. My 4 year old daughter still wears a diaper at night. I'll know she is ready when she wakes me up in the middle of the night to help her put the diaper back on after she has gone to the bathroom. Hang in there. Everything has it's own season. Trust him to do it when he is ready.

Scary and exciting about the standing up. Why do they have to grow up so quickly?!?!

Potty training is the one thing about motherhood that I wish I could skip. Seriously.
